Focus RSE (Bilan): digital water management on construction sites

Originally published as a brand report in Focus RSE, a Smart Media thematic supplement distributed with Bilan, September 2024, page 13.

Water is becoming scarcer and more expensive, even in Switzerland, often called the “water tower of Europe”. New rules on pesticides and drinking water quality will require major investment from Swiss water suppliers and push prices up.

Water on construction sites

Droople applies its sensors and transmission tools to construction sites, collecting real-time flow and pressure data that teams can check on a cloud platform. This helps detect leaks quickly and understand how water is used on site.

  • First analyses show that only 20 to 30% of site water is directly linked to construction work.
  • By optimising the rest, companies could reduce their water consumption by 10 to 20%, saving thousands of litres and several hundred francs per site over time.
  • Comparing performance between sites can motivate teams through “sustainability challenges”.

A sustainability commitment

The article also notes that Droople obtained B Corp certification in August 2024 with a score of 93.4, recognising its contribution to UN Sustainable Development Goals 6 (clean water) and 9 (industry and innovation).
